THE PROJECT
Medical discourse.
A shared research resource.
The Pakistan Medical Corpus (PMC) is a joint venture of Dr. Adnan Tahir and Dr. Muhammad Afzaal dedicated to analyzing medical discourse in Pakistan.
The project team describes a collection spanning hundreds of millions of words/tokens, covering medical journals, blogs, case studies and e-health communication. This project-reported scale is not the size of the demonstration below; a verified inventory and counting method will accompany the live release.
PMC supports research into grammatical complexity, lexical variation, metadiscourse and medical-education terminology. Academic collaborations, corpus processing and a multidisciplinary team support its development toward an accessible research platform.
Future aims include research on medical communication, AI-driven healthcare applications and policy, with institutional partnerships and subscription models supporting sustainable access.
Two spaces, one clear distinction. The original sample below is open to explore. Real PMC analysis will use a separate controlled service with account access and bounded research results. The collection is not connected to this public preview.
A PREVIEW OF THE RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Follow a word into context.
Try clinical, language or research. These examples are written for the demo; they are not patient records or excerpts from PMC.
Sample workspace ready. Real PMC access is coming soon.
RESEARCH ACCESS, THOUGHTFULLY PREPARED
Analysis first.
The collection stays protected.
The planned research service will return controlled analysis results instead of serving the complete source files. This preview contains no real PMC documents and offers no corpus download.
Research access is being prepared for in-place linguistic analysis. Access rules, source information and the available context excerpts will be confirmed before the real collection is connected. Use this original sample to explore the workspace in the meantime.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
From collection
to research workspace.
- Verify the collection inventory, source permissions and release counts.
- Prepare an encrypted private index and account access policy.
- Test controlled research queries and saved searches.
- Announce research access when the collection is ready.
For linguistic research. This demonstration provides no medical advice.
